Exporting & backups

Export writes your entire bookmark tree to a single file that downloads to your device. Nothing is uploaded — the file is generated locally in your browser.

Export formats

Click Export in the left sidebar and choose a format:

Format	File	Best for
BookMark Pro	bmpro-bookmarks.json	Backups and restoring into BookMark Pro. Preserves everything: icons, bookmark and folder colors, custom folder icons, title visibility, keywords, and layout.
Firefox	bookmarks.json	Moving your bookmarks into Firefox.
Chrome / Safari	bookmarks.html	Moving your bookmarks into Chrome, Safari, or most other browsers.

Backing up

Use the BookMark Pro format for backups — it’s the only format that captures the app-specific details like custom icons and grid layout, and it re-imports with full fidelity.

Caution

Your bookmarks live in this browser’s local storage. If you clear site data, reinstall the browser, or switch devices, they don’t come with you — an export file is the only way back. Back up whenever you’ve made changes you’d mind losing.

Moving to another device

There’s no sync, by design. To use your bookmarks elsewhere: export the BookMark Pro file, move it to the other device (drive, USB stick, however you like), and import it there.
